Elizabeth Maynadier writes six letters to her sister-in-law about the arrival of a British fleet in the bay and of her apprehensions. She comments on Francis Scott Key's patriotic song. To Anna (Mrs. Roger Brooke) Taney she writes about her concern for the war and conveys family news. William Maynadier requests a sword from Nathan P. Ames's Chicopee Factory, Springfield, Mass., in a 2 July 1834 letter from Pikesville Arsenal, Va.
